Currently in its 37th Season, Upper Canada Playhouse is an Eastern Ontario theatre company located in the Seaway Valley Village of Morrisburg along the St. Lawrence River. It had its beginnings in a tent and is now located in a charmingly converted former argyle sock/toothbrush factory where it operates an April to December season in a 275-seat space playing to an audience of approximately 40,000 annually from the urban centres of Ottawa, Brockville and Cornwall, the approximately 40 smaller communities in between as well as Montreal and Northern York State. It produces and builds its shows onsite.
To provide quality professional theatre and concerts to the Seaway Valley region of Eastern Ontario and surrounding communities.
The 2018 Season will reflect the traditional Upper Canada Playhouse programming structure of the Spring premiere of a live Canadian-created concert, a flagship 4-show summer theatres series (1 Canadian premiere; 2 additional Canadian plays and an American classic), a return engagement of another live Canadian concert and its annual holiday family show.
