PACT Caucuses: Regional Theatres,

PACT Region: 3 – Saskatchewan and Manitoba

Mandate: Persephone Theatre is a professional regional theatre company with a commitment to the production of widely diversified plays from the national and international repertoire. It serves the city of Saskatoon and district, as well as the province of Saskatchewan. The objective of Persephone Theatre is to provide a variety of professional theatre of the highest professional quality within its service area, employing local and national talent.

Our Mission: To engage and entertain through the power of theatre.

Our Vision: World Class Theatre Experiences

Artistic Director’s Vision:

We are the beating heart of Saskatchewan Theatre. The left ventricle of Canadian Theatre, circulating artists across Canada. A Home and a Hub. A place ex-pats ‘give back’ to where it all began and our finest successes are offered up for presentation in the rest of the nation. A place our patrons trust to both know who they are and what has meaning for them.

Persephone will be fertile ground for artists: a sought-after collaborator across Canada, present at the table of national discourse. Our good health will be the good health of our entire theatre community. When people think of Saskatoon – they will think Persephone. And when they talk – they will talk theatre.

Our Values:

We value the art.

We value stakeholder experiences.

We value our community and Persephone’s place in it.

We value effective governance, leadership, and administrative practices that help Persephone Theatre continue its mission and pursue its vision.
